Job summary

Anderson Wright Consulting Ltd is recruiting a CAD Design Engineer for a Congleton site. You will design mechanical systems for THP installations, focusing on structural steelwork, pressure vessels and piping, in a multidisciplinary team.

Requirements include 5+ years in mechanical design, SolidWorks proficiency, and awareness of relevant codes. Excellent communication and attention to detail are essential for delivering high-quality drawings and documentation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in mechanical design.
• Experience in process industries such as energy, water treatment, oil & gas or chemical processing.
• Good knowledge of design codes and standards for pressure vessels, piping and structural steel.
• Proficient in SolidWorks 3D CAD; other 3D CAD packages acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed manufacturing and assembly drawings using SolidWorks 3D CAD.
• Design pipework, structural steelwork and pressure vessels from calculations and data.
• Create and maintain 3D models, assemblies and detailed drawings.
• Produce BOMs, bolting schedules and assembly documentation.
• Interpret P&ID drawings and develop 3D models and 2D drawings.
• Collaborate with Process, Mechanical and Electrical Engineers to deliver integrated solutions.
• Provide technical support to manufacturing and assembly teams.
• Ensure designs comply with standards and procedures.

CAD DESIGN ENGINEER - CONGLETON£35,000-£60,000 DOE

Our client is a global leader in engineering and manufacturing, delivering innovative process solutions across a range of industries.Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an experienced CAD Design Engineer to join their engineering team based in Congleton.

The Role

As a CAD Design Engineer, you will play a key role in the design, development and delivery of mechanical systems for the client's THP installations.Working as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will be responsible for producing high-quality designs focusing on structural steelwork, pressure vessels and piping systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce detailed manufacturing and assembly drawings using SolidWorks 3D CAD software.
• Design pipework, structural steelwork and pressure vessels from engineering calculations and design data.
• Create and maintain 3D models, assemblies and detailed engineering drawings.
• Produce Bills of Materials (BOMs), bolting schedules and assembly documentation.
• Interpret P&ID drawings and develop accurate 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings.
• Work closely with Process, Mechanical and Electrical Engineers to deliver fully integrated engineering solutions.
• Provide technical support to the manufacturing and assembly teams throughout production.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant engineering standards, specifications and company procedures.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• A minimum of 5 years' experience in mechanical design.
• Experience working within process industries such as energy, water treatment, oil & gas, chemical processing or a similar engineering environment.
• Good knowledge of design codes and standards relating to pressure vessels, piping systems and structural steel.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks 3D CAD (experience with other 3D CAD packages will also be considered).
• An HNC, HND, Level 3 Diploma or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary engineering team.
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Salary & Benefits

• £35,000-£60,000 DOE
• Monday to Thursday: 8:00am - 5:00pm
• Friday: 8:00am - 4:30pm
• 20 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays
