Job Opportunity: CAD Technician in Walsall

Location: Walsall

Salary: Up to £35,000

Job Type: Permanent Full Time

Working Pattern: Hybrid (2/3 split)

Introduction

Our client, a leading company in the water sector, is seeking a talented CAD Technician to join their team in Walsall. This role involves development, management, and production of design across various disciplines. It is a permanent, full-time position with a competitive salary.

Key Skills

• CAD Design (CORE)

• General CAD proficiency

Key Responsibilities

• Create 2D and 3D designs using CAD software such as Autodesk and SolidWorks
• Collaborate with project, engineering, and operations teams to identify and mitigate design risks
• Generate technical drawings, plans, and general arrangements
• Produce Bill of Materials (BOMs) for procurement
• Develop and manage 3D models
• Work with multidisciplinary teams to develop design solutions aligned with client specifications
• Conduct site visits and surveys for design development
• Manage the final production of as-built models and drawings

Job Requirements

• Strong organizational skills and proficiency in SolidWorks, Autodesk, and similar design software
• Understanding of engineering principles and ability to interpret technical drawings
• Flexible decision-making skills, capable of adapting drawings quickly
• Experience with mechanical and electrical requirements in the water industry is desirable
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
