Drafts-person / CAD Designer
Location: London & Greater London
Salary: £40,000 – £50,000pa
Contract: Permanent / Full-time

About the Role

I’m recruiting for a client seeking a talented Drafts-person(CAD Designer) to join their scenic and fabrication team, creating exceptional sets and structures for TV, film, and live events. You’ll transform creative concepts into precise technical drawings that guide workshop and production teams, ensuring every detail is delivered to perfection.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Producing accurate 2D and 3D technical drawings for scenic builds, props, and event structures.
• Collaborating with designers, project managers, and fabricators to bring creative visions to life.
• Ensuring drawings meet structural, safety, and material specifications.
• Managing revisions and updates throughout the production process.
• Supporting the workshop team with clear, detailed documentation.

What We’re Looking For…

• Proven experience as a Drafts-person, CAD Technician, or Design Drafter within scenic, fabrication, or related industries.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Vectorworks, or similar CAD software
• Strong understanding of materials, construction methods, and fabrication processes.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlines.
• A collaborative mindset and passion for creative problem-solving.

Nice-to-Have

• Experience in TV, film, theatre, or live events.
• Knowledge of structural engineering principles.
• Familiarity with 3D modelling software (SketchUp, Rhino, etc.).
