Job summary

DATS Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Production Programmer for a client in Bolton. The role focuses on CAD/CAM programming for pressed and laser-cut parts, including STP to DXF conversions, with remote programming of press brakes and laser cutting resources.

You will also ensure timely data uploads to the MRP system to keep production on track. The ideal candidate has strong CAD skills (2D/3D, Inventor preferred), experience with press brakes, and a solid grounding in metal fabrication processes,

Qualifications

• 2D/3D CAD software knowledge (Inventor preferred)
• Experience operating press brakes
• Strong computer literacy
• Understanding of manufacturing processes
• Excellent communication and teamwork
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Training/experience in metal fabrication and parts manufacturing

Responsibilities

• CAD/CAM programming from 2D/3D drawings, converting STP to DXF for manufacturing.
• Remote programming for press brake and laser machines to enable production.
• Upload data into the MRP system on schedule.
• Contribute to manufacturing sustainability and process safety improvements.
• Assist design for manufacture to ensure parts meet manufacturing performance requirements.
• Identify tooling/equipment needs and initiate procurement.
• Support capital expenditure documentation and KPI delivery.
• Perform ad hoc duties as required.
