Job summary

Roc Technologies in the United Kingdom is seeking a Data Cabling Installation Engineer to deliver structured cabling and network infrastructure projects for diverse clients nationwide. You will install, terminate, test, and certify copper and fibre cabling, work with containment systems, and ensure safety and quality while complying with project specifications.

Eligible for SC/DV clearance and holding a driving licence, you will contribute to secure, enterprise or mission-critical environments

Qualifications

• Experience installing/terminating copper cabling (Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6A).
• Ability to test/certify cabling with Fluke equipment.
• Knowledge of containment systems (steel/PVC).
• Ability to read technical drawings/installation plans.
• Eligible for Security Check (SC) and Developed Vetting (DV).
• Fibre optic installation, termination and testing.
• OTDR testing knowledge.
• Experience in secure/enterprise or mission-critical environments.
• Hold ECS/CSCS card.

The Role

As a Data Cabling Installation Engineer, you'll play a key role in the delivery of structured cabling and network infrastructure projects for a diverse range of clients. Working alongside experienced engineers and project teams, you'll help ensure installations are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Install and configure network cabinets and communications racks
• Build and install primary and secondary containment systems
• Install, terminate, test, certify, and label Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6A structured cabling systems
• Carry out fibre optic and copper cabling installations
• Install and patch network switches and associated infrastructure
• Perform testing and fault-finding activities using industry-standard equipment
• Maintain accurate installation documentation and test results
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with industry standards, project specifications, and customer expectations
• Adhere to health, safety, and quality procedures at all times

About You

We're looking for individuals who combine technical expertise with a customer-focused attitude and a commitment to delivering exceptional results.

• Proven experience installing and terminating structured copper cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A)
• Experience testing and certifying cabling installations using Fluke testing equipment
• Strong understanding of containment systems, including steel and PVC solutions
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and installation plans
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Full UK driving licence
• Eligibility to obtain Security Check (SC) and Developed Vetting (DV) clearance
• Fibre optic installation, termination, and testing experience
• OTDR testing knowledge and experience
• Experience working in secure, enterprise, or mission-critical environments
• ECS/CSCS card holder
