Cabling Installation Engineer: Cat6/6A & Fibre Testing

Job summary

Roc Technologies in Reading is seeking Cabling Installation Engineers to join the installation team. You will perform network cabinet installations, install containment systems, and lay Cat6/Cat6A cabling to deliver customer projects.

Responsibilities include termination, testing and labelling of cabling, installing network switches, and copper patching, with emphasis on teamwork and independent work in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Experience terminating copper cabling (Cat5e/Cat6).
• Experience testing fibre and copper cables using Fluke testers.
• Solid knowledge of current installation practices.
• Experience installing containment systems (steel and PVC).
• OTDR testing knowledge is a plus.
• Able to work well in a team and independently.
• Good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Network cabinet installations.
• Primary and secondary containment system installations.
• Installation of Cat6 or Cat6A horizontal cabling solutions.
• Termination, testing and labelling of Cat6 / Cat6A solutions.
• Network switch installation.
• Copper patching.
