Job summary

St Peter’s School Huntingdon is seeking a Cabin Teaching Assistant to support students with ASC in a mainstream setting. The role is permanent, 29.10 hours per week, term-time with two training days, and starts as soon as possible.

The successful candidate will be patient, proactive, and able to liaise confidently with staff and students, with a minimum of GCSEs including English and Maths. DBS and safeguarding checks apply.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 GCSEs including English and Maths.
• Experience with SEN children/young pupils is desirable.
• Willingness to participate in PE activities is an advantage.
• Ability to liaise confidently with staff and students.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils in the Cabin, enabling ASC students to engage in a mainstream setting.
• Assist in classroom activities and daily routines.
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to monitor progress and wellbeing.

CABIN TEACHING ASSISTANT

Salary: NJC Scale Level 1a TA, Point 3 (£24,796 per annum FTE). Actual salary £18,786.27 per annum.

Contract: Permanent. 29.10hrs per week, Monday to Friday. Term Time plus 2 training days in September and October (38.4 weeks per year)
