Job summary

Avara Foods is seeking a Class 1 Hatchery Driver to load, transport and deliver eggs and chicks between breeder farms and the hatchery in Buckinghamshire. You will operate within regulatory and company standards, ensuring safe handling of loads and professional conduct on farm sites.

The role requires flexibility for Sunday-Thursday shifts, lifting up to 20kg, and adherence to health and safety protocols. Training and development are provided from day one.

Qualifications

• Must be self-motivated, flexible, committed and reliable.
• Hands-on role requiring physical work including lifting equipment up to ~20kg.
• Valid C+E license and in-date CPC and Tacho card are required.

Responsibilities

• Distribute eggs from Breeder Farms to Hatchery.
• Deliver chicks to company and contract broiler farms.
• Deliver eggs safely to the hatchery while following health and safety standards.
• Ensure loads are secured and PPE is worn as specified.
• Work within time schedules and comply with Working Time Directive.

Working Hours:

Sunday-Thursday start times between 16:00-19:00
48 hours guarantee

Purpose of the role
As a Class 1 Driver the purpose of this role is to safely collect and deliver eggs from the breeder farms to the hatchery and deliver chicks to both the company and contract broiler farms working within company and legislative standards.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Distribution of eggs from various Breeders Farms to Hatchery
• Deliver chicks to company and contract broiler farms
• Deliver eggs safely to the hatchery.
• Ensure Health and Safety standards are maintained continuously
• Ensure the security of loads at all times - Manual Handling included
• Ensure the correct protective equipment provided is worn as specified
• Working effectively within the time schedules and within company and legislative standards and Work within the Working Time Directive
• To present a professional image of the Company on all farms and to act as Company representative liaising with site manager as required

What we are looking for:

• A valid C+E license + in date CPC and Tacho card
• You must be self – motivated, flexible, committed and reliable
• This is a hands on role and involves a number of manual processes including lifting equipment in the region of 20kgs. You will also be required to work independently on farm sites.
