Job summary

TP ICAP in London is seeking an experienced C++ Software Engineer to develop high‑performance systems powering price discovery and analytics across asset classes. You will collaborate with quants and brokers, spanning both legacy and modern C++ code, delivering features to production.

You will grow technical and domain expertise in a real‑world financial technology environment, with opportunities to influence architecture and the SDLC.

Qualifications

• Degree in a technical subject or equivalent industry experience.
• Around 2–3 years' commercial C++ experience.
• Proficiency in modern C++ (C++11/14/17 or later).
• Solid understanding of the STL, memory management, RAII and pointer semantics.
• Experience with unit testing in a software project.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and test C++ features, and see them safely to production.
• Work across legacy and modern C++, modernising while keeping systems stable.
• Help estimate work and discuss solutions with the team.
• Learn the domain and codebase from Senior and Principal Engineers.
• Support directed refactoring towards target-state architecture.
• Contribute to the team's SDLC: planning, prioritisation and delivery.
• Work directly with end users (quants and brokers) to deliver what they need.
