Job summary

TP ICAP in Belfast is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to deliver business-critical software for the broking division, working in an Agile team across the full SDLC with emphasis on automation, CI/CD, and scalable design.

You will collaborate with architects, own key features, mentor juniors, and apply AI-enabled tooling responsibly within governance, with strong .NET/C#, distributed systems and cloud experience.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a Senior Software Engineer role in a delivery-focused environment.
• Strong .NET (C#) expertise across Framework and Core.
• Experience with distributed, real-time systems and scalable components.
• Relational databases design/optimisation (MS SQL Server, MySQL).
• WPF development and event-driven messaging experience.
• Cloud experience (preferably AWS) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiar with Agile delivery, Git workflows, and QA collaboration.
• Awareness of AI capabilities and governance in software engineering.
• Proven ability to mentor/junior engineers and deliver POCs.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Architects and Principal Engineers to shape solutions.
• Own design, development, and delivery of key features with quality outcomes.
• Work with QA to ensure robust testing and defect-free releases.
• Champion best practices: unit testing, code reviews, maintainable design.
• Leverage AI-enabled tooling to boost productivity within governance.
• Evaluate new technologies to improve delivery velocity and quality.
• Design for performance, scalability, and resilience, across distributed systems.
• Mentor junior teammates and communicate progress and risks early.
