Job summary

Pure Resourcing Solutions Limited is seeking a Software Engineer (C++) for Defence R&D in the UK. The role covers full lifecycle software from design to integration on prototype equipment, with MISRA-compliant C++ development and Linux deployment.

The team works in a small, multidisciplinary setting, offering a 4-day week and opportunities to grow across front-end, back-end, and data analysis tasks. Occasional UK/ab road travel is expected.

Qualifications

• Degree in software, computer systems, maths, physics or similar.
• Analytical, problem-solving mindset.
• Comfort explaining technical work to varied audiences.
• Curiosity and willingness to learn new tech/methods.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop new software in C++, to MISRA standards.
• Build graphical user interfaces (QT) and other tech as needed.
• Deploy software on Linux (Red Hat/Ubuntu) and maintain the systems.
• Write interface software for external hardware and third-party software.
• Analyse trials data and document findings for technical/non-technical audiences.
• Hands-on integration on prototype equipment.
• Keep code under Git version control.
