Job summary

Morson Group in Bristol on site (option for 4 days compressed week) seeks an Embedded Software Engineer to join a world‑leading missile systems facility. You will develop mission‑critical embedded software within a small to medium team, following the full software development lifecycle.

The role emphasizes MISRA C++ compliance, unit and hardware‑in‑the‑loop testing, and collaboration with requirements and ICDs.

Qualifications

• Significant experience developing and debugging Real time Software applications using C++.
• Experience with Rhapsody UML or other model-driven development tool.
• Extensive experience in developing functional and integration tests as well as simulation and hardware testing.
• Proven experience of developing and testing software to requirements and ICD’s.
• Competent with MS Office tools/DOORS, for reviewing and updating technical documentation.
• Working understanding of configuration management tools such as RTC/EWM.
• Knowledge of Python / Ada / FreeRTOS would be highly beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Development on Linux of Embedded Real-Time software using Rhapsody & C++ in a multi-threaded Application to software requirements & ICDs.
• Writing unit/functional tests and conduct integration testing with the target hardware.
• Adhering to the agreed Project Planning and Project Quality processes.
• Use JIRA for project management and issue tracking
• The role will involve working within a lab environment running software on target hardware.
