C#, .NET 8+, ASP.NET Core, AWS/Azure, Git, Mathematical & Geometric Problem Solving
You’re a developer who really enjoys building things.
You like getting involved in the whole process, from taking an initial idea and figuring out how it should work, through to writing the code, testing it, solving the tricky problems, and seeing it make its way into the hands of the customer.
You’re also someone who enjoys a technical challenge. Not just building another CRUD application, but working on problems where you need to think about mathematics, geometry, modelling, architecture, performance, and how different systems fit together.
If that sounds like you, keep reading.
I’m working with a specialist software development business based in Nottingham that builds applications for the manufacturing industry, with customers around the world.
They’re looking for a Developer to join their in-house development team, working alongside experienced developers to continue enhancing and developing their cloud-based enterprise systems.
You’ll be working across dedicated native and browser-based applications, helping build software that solves some really interesting problems within their industry.
The role will give you plenty of opportunity to get involved rather than simply being handed a ticket and told to get on with it. You’ll be involved throughout the development lifecycle, working from initial concepts through to development, testing, deployment, and handover.
Your core development experience will need to include .NET and ASP.NET Core 8+, C#, AWS or Azure, and Git.
One of the things that makes this role particularly interesting is the emphasis on mathematical and geometric problem solving. You’ll need to be comfortable getting your head around complex problems and working out how they can be represented and solved in software.
There’s also plenty of interesting technology around the core stack.
Experience with WPF, DynamoDB or other NoSQL databases, RabbitMQ/MassTransit, microservices, event-driven architecture, cloud-based development, CQRS, DDD, TDD, Agile, and CI/CD would all be useful.
If you’ve worked with graphics or modelling technologies such as Open Cascade, Parasolid, ACIS, OpenGL, WebGL, or DirectX, that could be particularly interesting, as could experience with Angular 18+ or another modern frontend framework.
You’ll be working in a team where you can contribute to technical decisions and have a real opportunity to improve the products and systems you’re working on.
You’ll need at least 3 years of relevant development experience, along with a degree or equivalent experience.
If you’re looking for a development role where you can work with modern cloud technology while getting stuck into some nitty-gritty technical and mathematical problems, this could be a great opportunity for you.
