Job summary

BYD Kidderminster is seeking a Vehicle Technician to join the Aftersales team and service BYD electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles at our dealership. You will perform routine servicing, diagnostics and repairs to high standards and contribute to customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate has a recognised automotive qualification, strong mechanical and diagnostic abilities and a proactive attitude. Training on BYD systems will be provided; enthusiasm for EV tech is a plus.

Qualifications

• Proven mechanical and diagnostic capabilities.
• Good understanding of modern vehicle technology.
• Full UK driving licence held.
• Experience with EV/hybrid systems preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance and health checks.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults.
• Carry out repairs accurately and efficiently.
• Work on BYD electric and DM-i plug-in hybrids.
• Use manufacturer diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Record work clearly and communicate required additional work.

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Vehicle Technician to join our growing team at BYD Kidderminster.

As BYD continues to grow rapidly across the UK, we're looking for an experienced and enthusiastic technician who wants to develop their career with one of the world's leading electric and plug-in hybrid vehicle manufacturers.

Working from our BYD Kidderminster dealership, you'll be part of our Aftersales team, carrying out servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and repairs while delivering the high standards our customers expect.

The Role

As a BYD Technician, your responsibilities will include:

Carrying out routine servicing, maintenance and vehicle health checks.

Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults.

Completing repairs accurately and efficiently.

Working on BYD electric and DM-i plug-in hybrid vehicles.

Using the latest manufacturer diagnostic equipment and specialist tools.

Completing work in line with BYD manufacturer procedures and standards.

Keeping accurate records of work carried out.

Identifying additional work required and communicating this with the Service team.

Ensuring vehicles are handled safely and professionally at all times.

Maintaining a clean, organised and safe workshop environment.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work and enjoys being part of a busy workshop team.

Ideally, you'll have:

Previous experience working as a Vehicle Technician.

A recognised automotive qualification such as NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.

Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills.

A good understanding of modern vehicle technology.

A full UK driving licence.

A positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Good attention to detail and a commitment to delivering quality workmanship.

Previous electric or hybrid vehicle experience would be an advantage, but BYD manufacturer training can be provided, making this a great opportunity for a technician looking to develop their knowledge of EV and hybrid technology.
