Job description

Overview

EV Apprentice opportunity with Evans Halshaw, representing BYD; gain hands-on experience in a modern garage workshop while earning and learning. You will undertake a Level 2 Autocare Technician Apprenticeship with progression onto the Level 3 Motor Vehicle Technician standard.

Evans Halshaw is one of the UK’s largest automotive retail groups, operating over 100 dealerships nationwide and representing multiple leading vehicle manufacturers. The company offers national coverage across England, Scotland and Wales and specialises in motor cars and commercial vehicles with franchises for 10 major automotive brands.

Responsibilities

• Learn all aspects of vehicle repair and maintenance, including servicing, MOT preparation, removal, replacement and overhaul of major components, and electrical fault diagnostics.
• Work within the garage workshop alongside experienced technicians.
• Follow safe working practices, especially around EV systems, and contribute to workplace housekeeping.
• Assist with diagnostics and fault finding and support the maintenance and repair of electric and hybrid vehicles.
• Participate in inspections and servicing of vehicles.

Typical Day

You will be based in the garage workshop and learn through hands-on experience in a modern workshop environment.

Hours

Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (40 hours).

Qualifications

• GCSE Level 4 or above in Maths and English.
