Job summary

Honeycomb is seeking a Corporate By-Law Review Officer to join a large public sector body in the Greater Belfast/Co Down area. The role is long-term temporary with hybrid working after training, paying £23.54 per hour (£44,075 pro rata).

The candidate will review and draft by-laws, interpret legislation, and prepare reports for committees and senior staff. A Law Degree and relevant experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Law Degree is required.
• At least one year's relevant experience in at least three of: legislative or regulatory review, drafting legislative instruments, research and analysis, preparing reports and recommendations, or stakeholder engagement.
• Excellent research, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organisation, sound judgement, and the ability to work independently.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and electronic record management systems.
• A full, valid driving licence and access to your own vehicle for work-related travel.

Responsibilities

• Review existing Council By-Laws and identify where changes or improvements are needed.
• Research, develop and draft new by-laws in response to local needs and Council priorities.
• Interpret legislation and provide clear, evidence-based advice and recommendations.
• Prepare reports and briefings for committees, elected members and senior officers.
• Collaborate with colleagues and external stakeholders to develop practical, effective legislative solutions.
