Our Role
To assist the Buying team in all aspects, with particular focus on sample management, product data management, supplier liaison, and general administration.
What you'll be doing
Product management
- Ensure all product line lists are accurately set up and maintained on the system in line with departmental deadlines.
- Maintain core product information and attributes such as price, quantity, delivery date, freight details, theme, currency assumptions, and supplier.
- Manage product setup and new season product data on Dynamics.
- Assist with order setup during peak times.
- Understand and maintain critical path assumptions and key dates.
- Organize and manage receipt of samples, ensuring they are available and correctly labelled.
Supplier Liaison
- Support QA in sealing sample progress, chasing results, and filing.
- Keep supplier details up to date and log performance issues.
- Prepare product brief sheets and chase suppliers as needed.
- Coordinate the development and arrival of samples and information for selection meetings.
Commercial Awareness
- Develop understanding of weekly pack and sales reports to identify trading risks and opportunities.
- Undertake store visits at least every three months.
- Meet with suppliers to improve knowledge of the business.
- Conduct regular competitor visits and provide feedback on product development opportunities.
- Understand critical dates and deadlines in planning and trading.
- Deliver excellent customer service standards.
- Understand key sales, profit, and margin drivers and their impact.
Analytical Support
- Provide ad-hoc analysis to support performance reviews and improve commercial understanding.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of the Dynamics system and assist in its upkeep.
- Keep accurate and organized filing systems.
Training and Development
- Implement improvements to working practices and systems where appropriate.
- Participate actively in team activities and training.
- Assist in training new Business Analysts.
- Ensure product communication to stores, web team, and call centre, and identify opportunities to improve sales.
The skills & experience you’ll need
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- A relevant Business or Textile degree is desirable.
