Job summary

Telestack in Omagh is seeking a Buyer to support procurement of materials, components, and services. You will raise and monitor POs, expedite orders to meet build schedules, and work with suppliers to cut lead times and costs.

The role requires 2+ years in purchasing within manufacturing or engineering, strong Excel skills, and the ability to interpret BOMs and engineering drawings. A proactive, detail‑oriented approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of purchasing experience in manufacturing or engineering.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills.
• Experience reading BOMs and engineering drawings.
• Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
• Strong organisational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., Epicor or similar).

Responsibilities

• Raise, amend, and monitor purchase orders; maintain ERP/PO data.
• Expedite open and shortage orders; plan orders to align with build schedules and JIT requirements.
• Collaborate with suppliers to reduce lead times, costs, and improve delivery/quality.
• Monitor vendor quality and update supplier information.
• Arrange transportation and track deliveries; resolve discrepancies with stores/finance.
• Interpret BOMs and engineering drawings as required.
• Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Identify cost-saving and continuous-improvement initiatives.
• Perform other duties that support purchasing and production.

Support production and organisational objectives by managing the procurement of materials, components, and services. Work closely with suppliers and internal departments to ensure timely, cost‑effective, and high‑quality purchasing aligned with build schedules and departmental KPIs.

About the role

• Raise, amend, and monitor purchase orders; maintain accurate ERP/PO data.

• Expedite open and shortage orders to avoid production delays; plan orders to align with build schedules and JIT requirements.

• Work with suppliers to reduce lead times, costs, and improve delivery/quality performance.

• Monitor vendor quality and maintain up‑to‑date supplier information.

• Arrange transportation and track deliveries to ensure timely arrival; resolve delivery or invoicing discrepancies with stores and finance.

• Interpret engineering drawings and bills of material (BOMs) when required.

• Discuss and resolve issues with defective or unacceptable materials.

• Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

• Identify and support cost‑saving and continuous‑improvement initiatives.

• Perform other duties that support purchasing and production needs.
