Job summary

Europa Components in Luton is seeking a Buyer to help ensure on-time procurement and delivery while building strong supplier relationships across global logistics. This hybrid role blends office collaboration with fieldwork across internal teams and external partners.

The successful candidate will manage supplier performance, handle MRP and purchase orders, maintain stock availability, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Previous experience within Purchasing, Procurement, Supply Chain Planning, or a similar role.
• Experience managing international or global supply chains.
• Good understanding of international shipping requirements, incoterms and freight arrangements.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook, and experience using ERP/MRP systems, ideally SYSPRO.

Responsibilities

• Manage supplier relationships and monitor supplier performance against KPIs.
• Raise and process purchase orders in line with lead times, pricing, and supplier terms.
• Maintain optimum stock levels and support inventory availability.
• Coordinate supplier deliveries, manage global shipments, and apply correct costs.
• Expedite outstanding orders and proactively communicate risks or delays to stakeholders.
• Update purchase order data in SYSPRO with quantities, pricing, delivery dates and product information.
• Monitor and respond to Live Agent tickets within service levels.
• Create new parts in SYSPRO and maintain purchasing data for availability.
• Collaborate with internal teams to support business objectives and continuous improvement.

What You'll Do

As a Buyer, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely procurement and delivery of products while maintaining strong supplier relationships and supporting inventory optimisation.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing supplier relationships and monitoring supplier performance against key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Managing MRP requirements for assigned suppliers, raising and processing purchase orders in line with agreed lead times, pricing, and supplier terms.
• Maintaining optimum stock levels and supporting inventory availability.
• Coordinating supplier deliveries, managing global shipments, raising ADV documentation, and applying correct costs.
• Expediting outstanding orders to ensure continuity of supply and proactively communicating potential risks or delays to stakeholders.
• Reviewing supplier order books and updating SYSPRO to maintain accurate purchase order data, including quantities, pricing, delivery dates, and product information.
• Monitoring and responding to Live Agent tickets in line with agreed service levels.
• Creating new parts within SYSPRO and maintaining purchasing data to support accurate availability information.
• Working closely with internal teams to support business objectives and continuous improvement initiatives.

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience within Purchasing, Procurement, Supply Chain Planning, or a similar role.
• Experience managing international or global supply chains.
• Good understanding of international shipping requirements, including Incoterms, freight arrangements, and associated responsibilities.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical and numerical abilities with a keen eye for detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
• Experience using ERP/MRP systems, ideally SYSPRO.
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
