RE Recruitment is seeking a dynamic Buyer to join our client's procurement team in the United Kingdom. You will drive sourcing and purchasing of goods and services essential to operations, ensuring seamless supply chain management and strong supplier relationships.

In a fast-paced environment you will negotiate, raise purchase orders, monitor deliveries, and analyse spend to identify savings opportunities, with a focus on accuracy, governance, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• CIPS Level 4 preferred with ongoing development to study further.
• Experience in a manufacturing/engineering environment.
• Ability to stay calm and professional in stressful situations.
• Excellent organisation skills.
• High attention to detail.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft packages.

Responsibilities

• Source suppliers by identifying, evaluating, and qualifying vendors.
• Negotiate price, terms, lead times, and service levels.
• Deliver reports on sales data and metrics to management.
• Raise and manage purchase orders and ensure receipt.
• Monitor on-time delivery and resolve delivery exceptions.
• Manage supplier relationships and performance reviews.
• Analyse spend and market data for savings opportunities.
• Maintain records with audit trails and policy adherence.
• Forecast demand with internal stakeholders to plan inventory.

Duties

• Sourcing suppliers - identifying, evaluating, and qualifying vendors for assigned categories.
• Negotiate price, terms, lead times, and service levels to secure the best total cost of ownership.
• Deliver reports on sales data, marketing activity and other metrics to the senior management team and other stakeholders.
• Raise and manage purchase orders and ensure orders are acknowledged and delivered.
• Monitor delivery and quality, tracking on-time delivery and resolving exceptions.
• Manage supplier relationships - performance reviews, issue resolution, and continuous improvement.
• Analyse spend and market data to find consolidation and savings opportunities.
• Maintain records and compliance ensuring accurate data, audit trails, and policy adherence.
• Forecasting demand with internal stakeholders to position inventory and capacity.
