Hours of Work - Monday - Thursday 7am - 4pm Friday 7am - 1:30pm
Responsibilities
- Assess procurement needs and develop a clear strategy for purchasing goods and services. Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their offerings in terms of quality, price, and reliability.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers to obtain the best terms of purchase, including discounts, shipping, and payment terms.
- Maintain a robust relationship with suppliers and manage vendor performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and performance metrics.
- Explore alternative sources to reduce supply chain risk.
- Maintain supplier approvals via desktop audits or site visits.
- Escalate and resolve supplier delivery or quality issues quickly. Support incoming goods inspection and resolve quality issues with suppliers.
- Work with production, planning, quality, and finance teams to align supply with operational needs.
- Monitor inventory levels and place orders to replenish stocks as needed, while avoiding excess or insufficient inventory.
- Ensure adherence to legal, environmental, import/export and regulatory requirements in the purchasing process.
- Review and process purchase requisitions, converting them into purchase orders.
- Track orders and confirm system lead times, delivery dates, and costs.
- Maintain comprehensive records of all purchasing activities, including procurement requests, purchase orders, and spending analyses.
- Produce and report KPIs to the management team where required.
- Stay updated with industry trends/new product development (NPD) and purchasing practices through continuous professional development and networking.
- Implement, support, and monitor all the company's procedures and policies within the department.
- Develop solutions to current issues within the department and plan further improvements for the long-term business plan.
