Booker Group is seeking an experienced butcher to run the butchery department with autonomy, working closely with the Store Manager to grow sales and profitability. You will engage customers with expert product knowledge, manage stock and food safety, and lead a small team to deliver high standards.

The role focuses on premium service, accurate stock management, and timely ordering, with responsibility for cut-to-order meat and department displays across the store.

Qualifications

• Experience running a butchery department or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of meat products and preparation.
• Excellent customer service and sales skills.

Responsabilités

• Run the butchery department like your own business.
• Develop local market growth and provide great service.
• Maintain stock, food safety procedures, displays and cleanliness.
• Work with Store Manager to create a growth plan for the department.
• Greet customers, offer advice, take orders and upsell where appropriate.
• Plan and manage stock taking and ordering.
• Lead a small team, including staff rotas and training.
• Cut meat to order and maintain tools and equipment.
