Business Support Officer Youth Justice Service

Location: Oldbury (office-based)
Hours: 37 hours per week, full time
Contract: Until 31 March 2026 (with potential extension)
Pay Rate: £13.26 £13.90 per hour (PAYE), dependent on experience

We are recruiting for a Business Support Officer to join a Youth Justice Service within a local authority setting. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced administrator who is passionate about supporting services that improve outcomes for children and young people.

The Role

You will provide comprehensive administrative support to a Youth Justice Service team, ensuring systems, records, and processes are maintained to a high standard.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring accuracy and consistency of information across systems
  • Updating and maintaining the Child View system
  • Supporting practitioners to ensure systems are updated in line with KPI requirements
  • Managing incoming post and messages, prioritising and escalating where required
  • Maintaining electronic and paper files, including scanning and uploading documents
  • Completing allocated tasks accurately and within agreed timescales
What We re Looking For
  • Previous experience in a business or administrative support role
  • NVQ Level 1 in Business Administration or equivalent
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience with Child View or Youth Justice systems is desirable
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to organise diaries and manage competing priorities

  • Office-based role, 5 days per week in Oldbury
  • Must be able to travel reliably to the office location
  • A standard DBS check is required
  • Start date as soon as possible
  • Contract runs until March 2026, with possible extension subject to funding
