Job summary

Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Warwickshire is seeking an organised administrator to join the small office team. The Role

We are looking for a skilled administrator to join our office. Whether an experienced Business Support Assistant or an enthusiastic career starter with an interest in policing and crime this will be an interesting and varied job, with opportunity to use your skills to make a real difference in a small office. You will be part of a small team providing the first line of contact to members of the public and partners and other stakeholders who contact our office. Your daily duties will include receiving and replying to correspondence, setting up and minuting meetings, supporting governance activities, and carrying out a range of tasks to ensure the smooth running of the office – including receiving visitors, paying invoices, preparing papers, and supporting colleagues in their work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake day to day business support services to ensure the effective running of the office, including ordering goods, administration of post, copying, printing and filing and other ad hoc duties.
  • Manage correspondence and public contact into the office, utilising contact management systems appropriately, and supporting colleagues to use them effectively.
  • Provide effective communication with internal and external contacts, ensuring that messages and relationships contribute positively to the OPCC’s reputation and credibility.
  • Provide support and facilitation for meetings and Boards including production and distribution of agendas and papers, taking and circulating minutes. Ensure meeting records represent an accurate account and include all relevant decisions, comments and issues.
  • Maintain and operate efficient and effective record keeping and filing systems ensuring they are updated and information is stored appropriately
  • Organise and support events, conferences, meetings and briefings
  • Produce documents, briefing papers, reports, spreadsheets and presentations and carry out analysis of information
About You

We are looking for someone who is confident and has experience of working in an administrative or customer focused environment and can exercise discretion when dealing with confidential information.

You will have:

  • Enthusiastic and positive approach
  • Excellent written skills
  • Great customer service skills.
  • An interest in policing or the work of the Police and Crime Commissioner is also a must.
Additional Information
  • This role is politically restricted
  • Full UK driving licence is required, as travel between sites is necessary
  • NPPV Level 2 and CTC vetting will be required
  • Flexitime arrangements apply
