Job summary

English Heritage is seeking a Business Support Assistant to join our South & East Regional team. This full-time role (36 hours per week) offers flexible working patterns and can be based at Wrest Park, Dover Castle, or remotely with hybrid arrangements.

You will provide a wide range of administrative support, including diary management and meeting servicing. You will need proven experience in administration, the ability to manage competing priorities, and strong IT skills with MS Office.

  • Experience of meeting and conference organisation and diary planning.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a full range of general administrative processes, including diary management, servicing meetings, filing information, and working with spreadsheets/databases.
  • Invoicing, printing and copying documents, and delivering high-level administrative support.
  • Support Operations, Experience & Engagement in the South & East Region to help deliver the English Heritage Strategic Plan.

We are looking for a Business Support Assistant to join our South & East Regional team. The role is full time (36 hours per week), and permanent after a satisfactory probationary period. We offer flexible working arrangements where the role allows. This role can be based at one of our sites or offices (Wrest Park or Dover Castle), at home, or worked on a hybrid pattern. You will be required to attend any site office on a frequent basis / 1 day a month at the least for 1:1s and Admin Meetings. There will also be a requirement to travel to other offices/sites (including London) either by car or public transport.

This is a great opportunity for you will be involved in a full range of general administrative processes, including: diary management; servicing meetings, collating and filing information; working with spreadsheets and databases, invoicing, printing and copying document and generally providing high level administrative support. Working 36 hours per week across 5 days, having the ability to work flexibly is our business requirement. As Business Support Assistant, we are looking for someone who is passionate about who we are and bringing history to life and has already gained significant experience working in an administrator role. You will have well-developed communication and organisational skills and proven IT skills (including MS Office applications). Team working, flexibility and the use of initiative all feature highly on our list of requirements and experience of working to tight deadlines and attention to detail is essential. Working as part of a team you will deliver a comprehensive business administrative service to the Operations, Experience & Engagement in the South & East Region to ensure that our priorities in the English Heritage Strategic Plan are delivered.

To be considered as a Business Support Assistant you'll need:

Interviews will be held on week commencing 29th September 2026 either on MS Teams or at the Dover or Wrest Park Office dependent on the candidates location.
