Job summary

Hampshire County Council in Havant is seeking a Business Support Administrator to join our Reablement Business Support Team. You will perform vital administrative tasks, handle customer interactions, and help ensure the smooth operation of our service delivering care to people in their own homes.

The role is 18.2 hours per week, permanent, hybrid working at Havant Plaza, with pro-rata salary around £12,798 to £13,335 per year.

Qualifications

  • Previous administrative experience.
  • Proficient IT skills with MO365 including Word, Outlook, Teams, Excel and SharePoint.
  • Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Patience, compassion, and empathy in all interactions.

Responsibilities

  • Be the Friendly Face: Handle calls, monitor and respond to emails, acting as the first point of contact for service users and staff.
  • Foster Connections: Build and nurture positive working relationships within our team and with our service users.
  • Solve Problems: Address and resolve high volume queries, ensuring customer satisfaction by escalating complex issues when necessary.
  • Ensure Accuracy: Working with spreadsheets, templates and scheduling systems to keep everything running smoothly.
  • Promote Continuous Development: Schedule training for the Community Response Team and participate in Continuous Improvement Group meetings.

The Role:

Join our friendly team as a Business Support Administrator within our Reablement Business Support Team, where we support people across Hampshire who need additional care.The Business Support Team support the multi-disciplinary team across all four reablement hubs – North, West, Central and South Hampshire – to ensure an effective service delivery.
As an integral part of our small supportive team, you’ll carry out vital administrative tasks and interact with customers, ensuring the smooth running of our service. Your work will be confidential, demanding and at times emotionally challenging, but always rewarding, which will suit your empathetic and flexible approach. You’ll be part of a service who are committed to promoting people’s independence and enhancing their quality of life, supporting them to remain living in their own homes, reducing, avoiding, or delaying the need for ongoing care.

What we’re looking for:
  • Previous administrative experience.
  • Good IT skills with MO365 experience (including Word, Outlook, Teams, Excel and SharePoint).
  • Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.

Working Patterns
You’ll work 5 days per week (this can be discussed at interview as we can be flexible with how the hours are spread out across the week). Our Service operates 7 days a week, therefore you'll be required to work weekends and bank holidays on a rotational basis for which enhancements are paid.
