Armstrong Watson, Glasgow, invites applications for a Business Services Director to lead the Glasgow office’s client-facing accounting and advisory services. You will oversee client relationships, budgets, and service delivery for a portfolio of clients, ensuring statutory and non-statutory accounts are prepared timely and accurately.

You will drive business development, mentor and manage staff, and partner with other service lines to deliver comprehensive client solutions.

Qualifications

• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Qualified Accountant under ICAS, ICAEW or ACCA.
• Experience preparing non-statutory, sole trader and partnership accounts alongside statutory financial statements.
• Knowledge of UK taxes (Personal, Corporation, VAT, Capital Taxes).
• Understanding of other services to refer to other Service Lines.
• Excellent communicator in verbal and written form.
• Able to manage and support colleagues and develop their best ability.
• Able to drive business development initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Conduct client meetings without a Business Services Partner.
• Act as a key 'Relationship Manager' for a designated portfolio of clients.
• Raising and approving fees in connection with own portfolio.
• Setting formal objectives for all direct reports and monitoring their progress.
• Monitoring performance versus objectives and departmental KPIs and providing feedback to the relevant Business Services Partner.
• Signing off and authorising documents / accounts / returns where legally acceptable.
• Building own network of professional contacts to generate new business.
• Assisting with recruitment activity in the team and dealing with 'People' related matters.
