Job summary

Matchtech is seeking a Business Process Automation Developer to design, develop and support workflow solutions using IBM BAW. The role is Northampton-based with 2–3 days per week onsite, and involves collaborating with stakeholders to deliver robust processes that improve operations.

You will contribute to architecture and coding of IBM BAW workflows, integrate with REST APIs and databases, work within Agile teams, and help maintain code quality through reviews and CI/CD practices.

Qualifications

• Deep hands-on experience with IBM Business Automation Workflow (BAW).
• Experience designing and implementing complex workflow and case management solutions.
• Strong Java development skills.
• Experience integrating with REST APIs and enterprise applications.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain IBM BAW workflow and process applications.
• Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Develop integrations with enterprise systems, REST APIs and databases.
• Participate in solution design, technical reviews and code quality initiatives.
• Support Agile delivery activities including estimation, sprint planning and execution.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application and production issues; contribute to CI/CD pipelines and deployment activities.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts, Architects, Product Owners and Test Engineers to deliver successful outcomes.

Business Process Automation Developer (IBM BAW)
Location: Northampton (2-3 days per week onsite)
Duration: Initial 6-month contract
Rate: Up to £700 per day Inside IR35 (Umbrella)

The Role

As a Business Process Automation Developer, you'll be responsible for designing, developing and supporting workflow and business process solutions using IBM Business Automation Workflow (BAW). You'll collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to deliver robust, scalable solutions that support critical business operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain IBM BAW workflow and process applications
• Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
• Develop integrations with enterprise systems, REST APIs and databases
• Participate in solution design, technical reviews and code quality initiatives
• Support Agile delivery activities including estimation, sprint planning and execution
• Troubleshoot and resolve application and production issuesContribute to CI/CD pipelines, deployment activities and engineering best practices
• Produce and maintain technical documentation
• Work closely with Business Analysts, Architects, Product Owners and Test Engineers to deliver successful outcomes
