Job summary

Aspion, a growing accident management business in Smethwick, is seeking an Operations Manager to run daily operations and directly manage a team of six across file handling, customer communications and call handling.

You will monitor performance, drive process improvements and help the team move claims forward efficiently, giving the owners more time to focus on growth and strategy.

The Company

Our client is a growing accident management business specialising in non-fault road traffic accidents. Its services include vehicle recovery, replacement vehicle hire, repair coordination and support with personal injury claims where needed.

The business has grown through its reputation and customer referrals. It is now looking for an Operations Manager to bring greater structure to its day-to-day work and support its next stage of growth.

The Role

Reporting to one of the owners, you will take responsibility for the daily operation of the business and directly manage a team of six across file handling, customer communications and call handling. You will monitor performance, improve processes and help the team move claims forward efficiently, giving the owners more time to focus on developing the business.

Duties and responsibilities include:

• Manage, support and hold regular performance reviews with the team.
• Set and monitor targets for new claims, file progression, case closures and recoveries.
• Review the quality of incoming claims and help determine which cases to take on.
• Track operational figures, identify delays or dips in performance and take action.
• Improve processes across customer contact, repairs, file handling and recoveries.
• Provide practical, day-to-day guidance on claims and accident management matters.
• Report on team performance and operational results to the owners.

Role Requirements

• Experience in accident management, motor claims, credit hire or a closely related sector.
• A sound understanding of the claims process and the commercial importance of progressing files and recoveries.
• Experience managing people and monitoring individual and team performance.
• Confidence using Excel and Microsoft Office to review figures and report on results.

Person Specification

• Is a hands-on manager who can lead a small team and handle day-to-day people challenges.
• Can assess how the business currently works, spot improvements and put practical processes in place.
• Is comfortable working with targets and using data to guide decisions.
• Brings relevant industry knowledge and can offer informed input from the outset.
• Works independently, takes ownership and communicates clearly with the business owners.
