Job summary

Ashfield District Council is seeking a Business Intelligence Officer to turn data into actionable insights within the Policy & Performance team. You will analyse performance data, create dashboards, and support decision-making across the council.

You will use Excel and Power BI, contribute to customer insight activities, and assist with GIS and spatial data analysis, helping promote effective data usage across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Experience working with data and ICT systems.
• Knowledge of Power BI or GIS or performance management is advantageous.

• Analyse and present performance data using tools such as Excel and Power BI.
• Produce reports, dashboards and visualisations for senior managers and elected members.
• Support customer insight activities, surveys and consultation projects.
• Assist with GIS and spatial data analysis.
• Help maintain performance management systems and promote the effective use of data across the organisation.
• We're looking for someone with strong numerical and analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and experience of working with data and ICT systems. Knowledge of Power BI, GIS or performance management would be an advantage.
• Contractual hours: 37

• Package: Up to 43 days per year including bank holidays (pro rata for part time/condensed working)

This post is career graded from Grade D to Grade F. Starting salary and grade will be determined according to experience and qualifications. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to progress through the grades as they develop the required skills, knowledge and competencies for the role.
