Job summary

Proactive Global is seeking an ambitious Business Development / Sales Trainee to join our recruitment business, specialising in the manufacturing and engineering sectors. This is not a traditional recruiter role; the focus is on business development, sales and winning new clients.

You will identify new opportunities, engage with prospective clients, build relationships with decision-makers and drive the end-to-end sales process from outreach to conversion.

Qualifications

• Experience in sales or business development
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Proactive, persistent and resilient approach to sales
• Ability to identify opportunities and engage with decision-makers
• Strong commercial mindset and drive to meet targets
• Organised with good planning and record-keeping

Responsibilities

• Identifying and researching new potential clients across the manufacturing and engineering sectors
• Proactively generating new business opportunities through outbound calls, email, LinkedIn and other channels
• Speaking with business owners, hiring managers and senior decision-makers
• Qualifying prospects and understanding their recruitment requirements
• Building and maintaining a strong pipeline of prospective clients
• Booking meetings and developing opportunities from initial contact through to conversion
• Developing long-term commercial relationships with new clients
• Maintaining accurate records of activity, prospects and opportunities
• Consistently working towards and exceeding sales and business development targets
• Working closely with the wider recruitment team to ensure new opportunities are effectively converted and delivered
