Business Development Representative - Money 20/20 - London, Hybrid

Informa Festivals marks an exciting new chapter in B2B events, bringing together some of the world's most influential creative, technology, and business festivals. We’re combining prestigious events like Cannes Lions, Black Hat, Money20/20, GDC, and London Tech Week with marketing intelligence platforms and advisory services to deliver impactful experiences and insights.

We are seeking a motivated and proactive Outbound Business Development Representative (BDR) to join our commercial team. You will play a key role in building qualified lead pipelines for our New Business Account Managers for Money20/20 Europe.

Your responsibilities include identifying and engaging potential sponsors, exhibitors, and strategic partners across global markets through market research, outbound outreach, and attending industry events to build relationships and deepen market understanding.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience in high-impact B2B sales and international business development within the global events industry.

Key responsibilities:

  1. Research and identify high-potential fintech companies, trade associations, and innovation bodies aligned with our event audiences to generate sponsorship opportunities and build a pipeline of qualified leads.
  2. Engage outbound leads via cold outreach, LinkedIn, email, and CRM tools to build relationships and qualify interest.
  3. Attend UK and European-based industry events to generate leads, gather market intelligence, and support commercial goals.
  4. Communicate the value of international exposure, strategic partnerships, and industry collaboration through Money20/20 participation.
  5. Educate prospects on how attending, exhibiting, or sponsoring can boost their brand visibility and global engagement.
  6. Collaborate with the Head of New Business, Account Managers, and international stakeholders to develop targeted outreach strategies.
  7. Maintain detailed prospecting activity in CRM for pipeline accuracy and performance tracking.
  8. Implement strategic outreach cadences to deliver sales-qualified leads to the sales team.
  9. Research prospects, identify decision-makers, and qualify buying interest within the fintech industry.
  10. Stay informed about industry trends.
  11. Share learnings actively within the team.
  12. Develop internal relationships to exceed customer expectations and support the team.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Previous experience in Business Development or Sales, preferably in B2B events, recruitment, media, or sponsorship sales.
  • A proactive, commercially-minded individual with a proven track record of building and converting outbound pipelines.
  • Skilled in desk research to identify relevant companies and sectors, with the ability to qualify opportunities efficiently.
  • Willing to attend industry events across the UK and Europe for lead sourcing and market insights.
  • Confident communicator capable of engaging senior stakeholders via email, phone, LinkedIn, and face-to-face.
  • Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM platforms for managing outreach and pipeline stages.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, goal-oriented, with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Google Suite, Outlook, Teams, and other productivity tools.
