Job description

Role: Business Development Manager - Management Systems

Location: Remote (work based West side of the UK)

Salary: Competitive salary

Russell Taylor Group has a fantastic opportunity for a BDM specialising in sales of Management System solutions to join a growing division of a Global Testing, Inspection and Certification company. The purpose of this role is to grow this division and give it the attention it needs to flourish. Therefore, the ideal individual must have experience in selling management systems solutions and experience of quoting using UKAS roles and essentially can hit the ground running.


Our client is open to selling management systems solutions in various ISO standards and is not limited to one standard; examples could be ISO 9001, 27001, 45001, 14001, etc.


The role is fully remote, with occasional client visits when required. All selling will be done via outbound calls, Teams meetings, email, and networking/LinkedIn. Quarterly in-person meetings will be held with the small team, and the location will vary. This is a cold desk, and you will be expected to generate your own leads, but this role offers a great opportunity and challenge for someone who is looking to develop and build upon their career where you are in control of your own desk with no micromanagement.


The Role
  1. Generate new leads, identify opportunities, meet clients and close business deals through telephone activity, social media, and complete the whole sales cycle from start to finish.
  2. Outbound calling to potential ISO Management systems customers.
  3. Work to activity, pipeline and forecast KPIs and work to target.
  4. Deliver high levels of customer service and build strong relationships with clients.
  5. Update the CRM across the organisation to create leads with cross-selling colleagues.
  6. Hunt for new business in areas where trends have been identified.
  7. Maintain and understand the wider marketplace and identify customer needs.

The Person
  1. Must have previous experience of working within a 3rd party/Testing, Inspection and Certification company selling Management Systems solutions.
  2. Resilient, energetic, focused and organised.
  3. Process driven.
  4. Fast Learner.
  5. Good understanding of compliance within an organisation.
  6. Hunting/cold calling ability.
