Job description

Venogy Talent is partnering with an energy infrastructure business to appoint a Business Development Manager focused on low carbon heat.

This is an opportunity for a commercially minded individual to win new business, build lasting customer relationships and influence how the business takes its heat solutions to market.

Combining hands‑on business development with commercial strategy, you’ll identify where the strongest opportunities lie and turn early conversations into contracted projects. You’ll also bring customer insight back into the business, helping shape competitive propositions that meet changing market needs.

The Role

You’ll take ownership of developing a national pipeline, working closely with commercial and technical colleagues to progress opportunities from initial engagement through to agreement.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Identifying new customers and projects, prioritising opportunities with strong commercial potential.
  • Building relationships with senior decision‑makers and developing accounts with scope for repeat business.
  • Leading customer discussions, coordinating proposals and tenders, and negotiating commercial terms.
  • Working with internal specialists to develop credible solutions and commercially sound offers.
  • Supporting targeted campaigns, industry events and presentations that generate new conversations.
Ideal Background

We’re looking for someone who understands how to sell technical solutions, navigate longer sales cycles and build confidence with customers.

You’ll bring:

  • A proven record of winning B2B business and converting opportunities into revenue.
  • Knowledge of utility networks, alongside experience building long‑term commercial relationships.
  • Confidence managing bids, negotiating contracts and presenting to senior stakeholders.
  • The ability to work effectively with technical and commercial teams.
  • A proactive approach to prospecting, with the organisation to manage several opportunities at different stages.
  • Experience in low carbon heat or utility connections would be particularly valuable.
The Opportunity

This role offers scope to contribute beyond individual sales wins. You’ll help shape the commercial direction of the heat offering, strengthen its market presence and build a customer base that supports long‑term growth.

It would suit someone who enjoys opening doors, taking ownership of complex opportunities and having a voice in how a business develops its proposition.
