Job summary

CDC Global Solutions is seeking a Business Development Manager to identify and convert new business opportunities within biotech, pharma and specialty pharma sectors. You will build relationships from outreach through to contract, represent the company at industry events in the UK and Europe, and collaborate with scientific teams to translate capabilities into client pitches.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years in a business development, sales, or client-facing commercial role; pharma, life sciences, or a related scientific/technical sector is a plus
• Confident communicator able to prospect, build rapport and manage a pipeline independently
• Genuine curiosity about the science behind the service and ability to discuss technical details with clients over time
• Self-motivated and resilient with ambition to grow into a senior commercial role as the business scales
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel for client meetings and events

Responsibilities

• Identify, develop and convert new business opportunities across the CDMO's target markets, building a pipeline of biotech, pharma and specialty pharma clients
• Build and nurture relationships with prospective clients from initial outreach through to proposal and contract
• Represent the business at industry conferences, trade shows and networking events across the UK and Europe
• Work with technical and scientific teams to translate capabilities into compelling client-facing pitches
• Maintain accurate pipeline and activity tracking via CRM; feed into wider commercial strategy
• Support the development of proposals, RFP responses and commercial documentation
