Permanent Futures Limited is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to own the North of England territory within the construction, utilities and infrastructure markets. You will drive new business and grow revenue by building lasting relationships with main contractors and civil engineering firms.

The role requires proactive territory development, end-to-end sales, and the ability to win high-value capital equipment opportunities while managing the pipeline with autonomy.

Qualifications

  • Track record selling capital equipment, heavy plant or construction machinery.
  • Experience serving construction, civil engineering, infrastructure or utilities customers.

  • Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to cultivate relationships with stakeholders at multiple levels.
  • Willingness to travel regularly throughout the North of England.

Job description

Futures are looking to appoint an experienced Business Development Manager to join an established supplier of high-value capital equipment serving the construction, infrastructure and utilities markets.

This is a territory-focused position covering the North of England, suited to a commercially driven sales professional with experience selling heavy plant, access equipment, machinery or similar capital equipment.

The successful candidate will take ownership of their region, developing new business while building and expanding relationships with existing customers. You will be given the autonomy to manage your territory and sales pipeline, with a strong emphasis on getting in front of customers and identifying opportunities to grow revenue.

You will be responsible for generating and converting sales opportunities across a broad customer base, including main contractors, civil engineering businesses, utilities, groundworks companies and other major construction organisations.

  • A successful track record selling capital equipment, heavy plant, access equipment, construction machinery or a closely related product.
  • Experience dealing with customers across construction, civil engineering, infrastructure or utilities.
  • Demonstrable experience of winning new accounts and closing high-value sales.
  • Strong commercial and negotiation skills.
  • The ability to develop relationships with stakeholders at multiple levels within customer organisations.
  • A proactive, self-managed approach to territory development.
  • The willingness to travel regularly throughout the North of England.
