Senior Business Development Manager – Offshore Wind / Wind Energy

Remote/Hybrid (UK National Coverage)

£70,000 - £100,000 base salary + Car Allowance + Bonus + Pension + Comprehensive Benefits

The Company -

We are working with a leading renewable energy developer and strategic infrastructure partner at the forefront of the energy transition. As part of their continued growth across the offshore and onshore wind sectors, they are seeking a dynamic and commercially minded Senior Business Development Manager to lead on high-value strategic growth initiatives across the UK wind market.

The Role -

We are looking to speak with a seasoned business development professional with deep industry insight, commercial acumen, and the drive to lead transformative renewable energy projects that support the UK’s journey to Net Zero.

Key Responsibilities -

  1. Strategic Sales and Market Development
  2. Identify, evaluate, and secure new commercial opportunities across the offshore and onshore wind landscape — including project origination, partnerships, and asset acquisition.
  3. Stakeholder Engagement & Relationship Management
  4. Build and maintain strategic relationships with developers, utilities, government agencies, supply chain partners, landowners, and investors. Represent the business in industry forums, consortia, and public sector partnerships.
  5. Lead commercial due diligence, develop investment cases, and support negotiations for joint ventures, PPAs, site control, and development rights. Work closely with legal and technical teams to structure winning deals.
  6. Drive the growth of a robust UK-wide wind energy pipeline by identifying and developing new projects, working closely with internal teams across development, planning, grid, and delivery.
  7. Policy & Market Insight
  8. Stay ahead of evolving market trends, regulatory frameworks (e.g., CfD rounds, seabed leasing), and offshore licensing processes to shape go-to-market strategies and maintain competitive positioning.

Industry Experience Required-

  • Proven experience (3+ years) in business development, commercial strategy, or project development in offshore wind, onshore wind, or renewable energy.
  • Deep understanding of the UK wind market – including CfD mechanisms, grid connection processes, and consenting challenges.
  • A well-established network across the renewable energy ecosystem, including developers, supply chain, funders, and public sector entities.
  • Strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and the ability to structure complex deals with multiple stakeholders.
  • Self-driven and results-oriented, with the ability to thrive in a hybrid/remote role and travel nationally as required.
