Basic salary from £38k+ with a generous bonus (c. 20% per annum) and car allowance.

Location: UK Home-Based (Edinburgh / Northern England) with travel to customers and meetings (including occasional overnight stays). We welcome both full-time and part-time applications.

As our Sales Manager / Business Development Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Drive Business Growth: Make a real impact by developing and expanding our business within a key sector for Esri UK, while securing new customers.
  • Customer Success: Become a trusted advisor to our customers by working closely with decision-makers, demonstrating how our products can bring value to their organisations.
  • Sales and Negotiation: Identify, qualify, negotiate, and close sales while ensuring that proposals meet margin requirements and cost of sale.
  • Increase Product Adoption: Develop Customer Success Plans, helping customers maximize their ROI through GIS technology.
  • Collaborative Approach: Work closely with colleagues across various departments to achieve team goals and contribute to the overall success of Esri UK.

You’ll be a great fit for this role if you:

  • Have a foundational understanding of GIS technology (essential). Knowledge of Esri GIS products is desirable, as it will allow you to propose tailored GIS solutions.
  • Are keen to grow a career in sales. While previous sales or business development experience is beneficial, we value individuals who can listen, understand customer needs, and provide the right solutions to help them succeed.
  • Any experience in the public sector, UK healthcare, or housing sectors would be an advantage.
  • Are consultative in your approach, putting the customer’s needs at the forefront while maintaining a commercial mindset to create compelling proposals.
  • Excel at building lasting relationships with both customers and colleagues.
  • Are eager to make a significant impact on our business success.
  • Thrive in a team environment, recognizing that collaboration and knowledge sharing lead to greater success for all.
  • Are authorized to work in the UK and hold a valid UK driving license.

Security: Because of the types of data and clients we work with, all our positions require successful candidates to undergo a basic security clearance.

Location - Home-based in or near Edinburgh or Northern England - you will still need to attend some meetings and make some customers visits in person, we are happy for you to work from home, one of our offices or a mixture of both.
