Summary:
OA Executive are working exclusively with our client who is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Business Development Manager to drive growth in the aerospace and defence sectors, specifically focusing on the raw material supply of titanium and nickel alloys. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual to lead business development efforts and contribute to the company's success.

Role Purpose:
As the Business Development Manager, you will target and develop business with new customers, focusing on the supply of titanium and nickel alloy 625, 718, and 925. Your role will involve leading the Senior Management team in the development of a raw material growth business plan while implementing strategies to identify and engage new customers.

Role, Tasks, and Accountabilities:

  • Lead the Senior Management team in crafting a comprehensive growth business plan for the aerospace and defence sectors.
  • Develop and implement strategies to identify and target new customers effectively.
  • Take full responsibility for all new business opportunities and guide them through to order closure, with internal support available.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager to establish future sales budgets for these sectors.
  • Assist with material stock purchase levels and reorder points for the new sector.
  • Understand customer sector specifications and capabilities.
  • Identify potential opportunities for new business development through acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic relationships.
  • Enhance the company profile within the sectors through marketing efforts, conference attendance, and industry exhibitions.

Candidate Profile:

  • Proven experience in selling nickel alloys and/or titanium to aerospace and defence clients.
  • Confidence in the ability to grow UK business from the ground up to over 1.5 million within 12 to 18 months.
  • Strong understanding of margin expectations within these sectors.
  • Ability to work remotely and manage regular customer meetings nationwide.
  • Experience in presenting to senior-level customers and influencing their decisions.
  • Highly motivated with a professional work ethic.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships and facilitate team dynamics.

Work Location and Hours:
Normal working hours are 08:30 to 17:00 (Monday to Thursday) and 08:30 to 16:30 (Friday). This role offers full-time remote working with an expectation of monthly site visits to the headquarters in West Edinburgh for management meetings.
