Job description

The role of the business development manager is to support the Account management Team to help increase the numbers of trading customers and increase the profitability of existing ones, market all relevant products and service offerings throughout a named account list.

To proactively uncover, understand and record all the key projects and initiatives defining an Account Plan to enable the company to win as much relevant business as possible., ensure financial targets are met.

To liaise with other departments to make sure customer’s requests are dealt with efficiently and effectively, regardless of whether you are in direct control of the issue, achieve the highest levels of customer satisfaction throughout the Phoenix sales lifecycle

To have a comprehensive understanding of the market place and our competitors, to take responsibility for supporting team members and offering guidance whenever necessary in order to promote opportunities to succeed.

To be held in high regard with customers and colleagues, proactively and thorough deal with all customer enquiries, in a timely manner

To take pride in maintaining the highest levels of customers satisfaction, dealing with every aspect of the role in a professional and diligent manner.To support the Account Management Team with customer engagement via calls, Face to face meeting, exhibitions and events etc

Key responsibilities

  • To uncover and record on company systems all important customer information, key contacts, organisation structure, competitive activity, contract timetable, project plans, in-house technical ability, credit worthiness etc
  • To consistently, respond to all customer information/quotation requests to a high standard and in a timely manner, following up these requests and closing the opportunity.
  • To gain a position where it is possible to quote and win business/agreements/projects dislodging incumbent suppliers gradually or in their entirety
  • To maintain a high level of understanding of all relevant products and services
  • To consistency, maintain appropriate customer records on all Phoenix systems
  • To consistently, provide accurate, well thought through, sales forecasts and reports to the Sector Sales Manager as required
  • To set customers’ expectations effectively
  • To effectively prioritise workload and adhere to customer contracted SLA’s where in place
  • To give advice and support without prejudice, to all areas of sales.
  • To always, adhere to relevant Key Performance Indicators for the Sales TeamProviding updates and insights on business development activities.Achieving financial targets: Meeting or exceeding set financial goals through effective business strategies.
  • Any other reasonable request
  • Support objectives as defined in the company’s information security policy
  • Perform your tasks in support of data and information securityOffering guidance to team members: Providing support and advice to promote opportunities for success.

Competencies

  • IT industry experience preferably around Software Licensing. IT Infrastructure, Cloud, IT Services, Software Asset Management and Managed Service
  • High level of understanding of Procurement route and Tender Frameworks
  • First Rate Communication and Presentation Skills
  • Effective time management skills with the ability to plan
  • Ability to prioritise work under pressure, work without supervision and use initiative to ensure that deadlines are met.
  • Strong team player
  • Experience of conducting external meetings and capturing actions
  • Flexible approach to travel and the working day
  • A strong team player and work ethic
