Location:Bristol (Office-based role)

Reports to:Founder

Type:Full-time

Salary:£50-70K total package, DOE

About us

We are Luna 9 — a strategy-led product marketing agency, partnering with ambitious tech businesses to help them nail their pitch and conquer the market. As demand for our work grows, we’re looking for a commercially-driven, hands-on Business Development Lead to help us bring in more of the right opportunities — and increase the consistency, quality, and value of our pipeline.

The role

This is a senior, strategic role focused on driving new business through the top and middle of the funnel. You’ll work closely with the founder to identify and engage the right prospects, convert early interest into qualified leads, and relieve pressure on the leadership team by building a stronger, more self-sustaining growth engine.

You’ll bring a sharp commercial mindset, a strong grasp of agency sales cycles, and the ability to craft clear, persuasive proposals that turn conversations into clients. This is a role for someone who enjoys being proactive — researching targets, tailoring outreach, developing relationships, and guiding opportunities through to pitch stage.

Experience in account management or direction is welcome — you understand how clients think, what great service looks like, and how to identify the right-fit opportunities from the start.

You’ll also be a confident representative of the agency, attending client meetings and sector events as needed, with occasional travel required.

Key responsibilities
  • Plan, lead and execute new business activity across the top and middle of the funnel
  • Identify, research, and prioritise high-value targets across key verticals
  • Develop and run tailored outreach campaigns to start and sustain meaningful conversations
  • Build and nurture relationships with cold, warm, and lapsed prospects
  • Qualify inbound and referral opportunities, ensuring strong commercial fit
  • Lead the creation of compelling, well-structured proposals and pitch responses
  • Work collaboratively with the founder to align growth activity with agency strategy
  • Track, analyse, and report on pipeline health and conversion using our CRM
  • Represent the agency at prospect meetings and proactively attend industry events
  • Build connections with potential industry partners and investors
What we’re looking for
  • Proven experience in a new business or growth role within a creative, brand, or product marketing agency
  • Strong commercial instincts and a strategic, sales-focused mindset
  • A consultative selling mindset – we’re a B2B service-based business, not selling off-the-shelf products
  • Skilled in crafting clear, persuasive proposals that win work
  • Confident communicator with strong relationship-building abilities
  • Experience in account management or direction is a strong plus
  • Familiar with agency sales cycles and what drives long-term client value
  • Hands-on with outbound and CRM tools, and comfortable owning reporting and performance tracking
  • Proactive, structured, and able to work independently
  • Willing to travel for meetings and events when needed
