Business Development Executive

We are recruiting a motivated and commercially driven Business Development Executive on behalf of a specialist provider of refurbishment and lifecycle services to the UK water and wastewater industry.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious B2B sales professional to join an established technical services business, helping utilities, contractors and industrial customers improve operational performance through cost-effective and environmentally responsible solutions.

The successful candidate will play a key role in identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic customer relationships and securing contracts across the water, wastewater and environmental sectors.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, develop and convert new business opportunities across the UK water, wastewater, utilities and environmental markets.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with water companies, contractors, consultants and other key industry stakeholders.
• Promote specialist technical services, including refurbishment, recycling, disposal and replacement solutions.
• Prepare and present proposals, quotations and commercial presentations tailored to customer requirements.
• Negotiate commercial terms and secure new contracts to achieve business growth objectives.
• Work closely with operational teams to develop practical, customer-focused solutions.
• Manage sales pipelines, maintain accurate CRM records and provide regular sales forecasts.
• Attend customer meetings, site visits and relevant industry events to strengthen relationships and identify opportunities.
• Monitor market developments and identify opportunities to expand the customer base and increase revenue.

About You

We are looking for a proactive and commercially minded sales professional who enjoys developing new relationships, identifying opportunities and converting prospects into long-term customers.

You will ideally have:

• Proven B2B sales or business development experience within the water, utilities, environmental, engineering or industrial services sectors.
• A demonstrable ability to generate leads, develop a sales pipeline and win new business.
• Strong communication, presentation, negotiation and relationship-management skills.
• A commercially focused mindset, with the confidence to engage customers and influence purchasing decisions.
• The ability to work independently, manage your own workload and take ownership of sales objectives.
• A practical, solutions-focused approach and the ability to collaborate effectively with operational and technical teams.
• A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationally for customer meetings and site visits.
