Business Analyst - IT/OT for Energy Operations

Job summary

prosource.it is seeking a skilled Business Analyst to join a people-centred technology team. You will translate business needs into clear IT requirements and work across both IT and OT environments to deliver valuable technology solutions.

You will collaborate with architects, engineers and stakeholders to ensure alignment and drive continuous improvement within enterprise IT and OT domains. Glasgow-based with travel to Perth and Aberdeen, Contract or Permanent considered.

Qualifications

• Experience as a BA in complex IT environments using standard analysis frameworks and methodologies.
• Experience documenting application landscapes, integration points and data flows across enterprise environments.
• Experience collaborating with Solution Architects, Enterprise Architects, Technical Designers or SIs to review and validate designs.
• Proven ability to produce BRDs, Functional Specifications and User Stories.
• Ability to create Process Maps, Data Flow Diagrams and Current/Future State Assessments.
• Facilitation of workshops and requirements sessions with stakeholders.
• Exposure to both Agile and Waterfall delivery models.
• Familiarity with SCADA, network management or OT-integrated systems is beneficial.
• Experience in energy, utilities or critical infrastructure sectors (or transferable experience).
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills.
• Proactive, analytical and solutions-focused approach; highly organised with multi-priority delivery.

Responsibilities

• Build strong relationships with business stakeholders to understand goals and drivers.
• Analyse and document application, system and data flows; identify dependencies and integration points.
• Review and validate solution designs with technical teams and SI partners.
• Facilitate discovery sessions and workshops for alignment.
• Translate business needs into IT requirements, user stories and documentation.
• Support delivery of technology solutions aligned with regulatory and strategic needs.
• Produce customer journeys, process maps and operational impact assessments.
• Coordinate solution delivery across internal teams, partners and stakeholders.
• Work with architects and engineers to understand system interactions and design impacts.
• Support OT/enterprise IT tech initiatives and continous improvement.
