Jealott’s Hill is one of the main global research and development sites and key activities include research into discovery of new active ingredients, new formulation technologies, product safety, technical support of our product range and seeds research.

Job Description

In our continuing mission to enable digital science across Crop Protection Research and Development (CP R&D), we are looking for an enterprise-level business analyst to deliver a significant, high-value, and impactful transformation across the global Product Biology function. This role will help understand how our inventions and technologies deliver innovative products to our customers.

You will be someone who is curious and courageous to act, building a deep understanding of how processes and outcomes in product biology support the creation of new active ingredients from small chemical molecules to biologicals and new modalities of product innovation, including soil health and bio-stimulants. You will develop a stakeholder engagement strategy, support the creation of a change roadmap, facilitate incremental delivery, and explore new opportunities across the global product biology function, from field trial inception to supporting key product decisions.

Working with colleagues in science and IT, you will support multi-million dollar investments into DevOps teams, focusing on creating field experiments, capturing data, developing FAIR data products, and leveraging AI and digital applications from R&D into commercial digital products.

You will need to understand and identify organizational needs, translate these into initiatives and epics for delivery teams, and maintain the delivery process.

Accountabilities

1. Define and maintain a 3-5 year IT strategy aligned with business goals to generate value.
2. Ensure creation of FAIR data products.
3. Manage a portfolio of IT investments aligned with strategy.
4. Manage multiple backlogs at the epic level across capabilities and IT products.
5. Contribute to the business analyst community through best practices, peer reviews, mentoring, and coaching.
6. Promote a culture of considered risk-taking.
7. Lead development of a digital future landscape across R&D capabilities in collaboration with stakeholders.
8. Identify opportunities for breakthrough initiatives.

Qualifications

Experience/Previous Jobs Required

• At least 5 years of business analysis experience across various domains, from incremental to strategic influence.
• At least 2 years of experience in an Agile (preferably DevOps) environment.
• Experience in life sciences R&D is desirable.
• Knowledge of emerging technologies.
• Ability to build consensus among diverse groups.
• Strong influencing and communication skills.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of anticipating issues.
• Ability to manage complexity and uncertainty.

Critical Knowledge and Education

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Strong customer focus, communication, teamwork, and negotiation skills.
• Awareness of advances in technology and science.
• Ability to operate independently in a complex scientific or sustainability environment, ensuring compliance.
• Fluency in English.
