Job description

In our continuing mission to enable digital science across Crop Protection Research and Development (CP R&D), we are seeking an enterprise-level Business Analyst to lead a significant, high-value transformation within the global Product Biology function. This role aims to enhance our understanding of how innovations and technologies deliver innovative products to our customers.

The ideal candidate is curious, courageous, and capable of building a deep understanding of processes and outcomes in product biology, supporting the creation of new Active ingredients—from small chemical molecules to biologicals—and exploring new modalities like soil health and bio-stimulants. You will develop a transparent stakeholder engagement strategy, support the creation of a change roadmap, oversee incremental delivery, and identify new opportunities from inception of field trials to key product decisions.

Collaborating beyond R&D with colleagues in science and IT, you will support multi-million dollar investments into DevOps teams, focusing on creating field experiments, capturing data, developing FAIR data products, and leveraging AI and digital applications from R&D into commercial digital products.

You will need to understand organizational needs deeply and translate these into initiatives and epics for delivery teams, maintaining a steady delivery rhythm.

Accountabilities

1. Define and maintain a 3-5 year IT strategy across multiple R&D capabilities aligned with business goals, ensuring value creation.
2. Ensure data products are FAIR.
3. Manage a portfolio of IT solution investments aligned with strategy.
4. Oversee multiple Epic-level backlogs across capabilities and IT products.
5. Contribute to the business analyst community through best practices, peer reviews, mentoring, and coaching.
6. Promote a culture of considered risk-taking.
7. Lead the development of a digital future landscape across R&D capabilities with key stakeholders.
8. Identify opportunities for breakthrough initiatives.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of business analysis experience across various domains, from incremental delivery to strategic influence.
• 2+ years of experience working in an Agile (preferably DevOps) environment.
• Experience in life sciences R&D is desirable.
• Knowledge of emerging technologies.
• Ability to build consensus among diverse groups.
• Strong influencing and communication skills.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of anticipating issues.
• Ability to manage complexity and uncertainty.

Critical Knowledge and Education

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Strong customer focus, communication, teamwork, and negotiation skills.
• Awareness of advances in technology and science.
• Ability to operate independently in complex scientific or business environments while ensuring compliance.
• Fluency in English.
