Job summary

Wolseley is seeking a proactive Business Analyst Apprentice (Level 4) in Warwick. You’ll learn on the job while supporting analysis activities across projects, under guidance from experienced colleagues.

This 1 year 6 month apprenticeship includes a structured training plan with on-the-job experience, aiming to develop core BA techniques and knowledge of Wolseley's operating model.

Qualifications

  • A Level 3 qualification plus 12+ months of work experience.
  • A business-related degree (e.g. business, finance, economics, maths).
  • A non-business-related degree plus 6+ months of work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting Business Analysts and Project Managers with analysis activities across projects and change initiatives within Wolseley.
  • Assisting with the investigation of business processes and problems, gathering information through meetings, workshops, shadowing and reviewing existing documentation.
  • Supporting the documentation of requirements, processes, impacts and analysis outputs, using agreed Wolseley templates, tools and standards.
  • Helping to maintain analysis artefacts, logs and documentation repositories in a clear, accurate and organised manner.
  • Supporting stakeholder engagement activities, including meeting preparation, note-taking and follow-up actions, with guidance from more experienced colleagues.
  • Assisting with analysis activities related to testing, business acceptance and transition of solutions into business-as-usual operations.
  • Learning and applying core business analysis techniques and ways of working through structured training, coaching and on-the-job experience.
  • Building knowledge of Wolseley's business, operating model and delivery environment, demonstrating increased confidence, judgement and independence over time.
  • Acting professionally at all times, managing time effectively, seeking feedback and taking responsibility for personal development.
  • Performing other ad-hoc duties as appropriate, including supporting special projects or improvement activities.

What you'll do at work

You’ll be completing a structured training plan, which will be complimented by a Level 4 Business Analyst Apprenticeship, where you will be provided time each week to complete your training activities.

  • Experience a flexible learning journey using a blend of learning methodologies, including online learning, practical exercises, video content, coaching and workshops

Tools and technologies learned: Apprentices will learn to use Unified Modelling Language (UML), Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN), Data Modelling, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), SWOT & PESTLE.
