We're looking for a Business Analyst, as a member of the Healthcare Technology team within Boots IT. This is an opportunity to work across a diverse landscape of healthcare applications and initiatives. You will be at the centre of Boots Healthcare business, delivering the best solutions that put our customer needs first.

Reporting to a Lead Business Analyst, you will work with members of the Healthcare functions to jointly define with them the high-level scope, objectives and requirements for major upcoming and ongoing projects.

The day-to-day activities of the role will include but are not limited to:

  • Work collaboratively with business and IT stakeholders and using a variety of techniques as suitable to define, capture and prioritise the backlog of requirements and create user stories, including functional, non-functional and IT operational requirements for the project.
  • Analysing business requests, identifying and evaluating options for improving business systems and processes, ensuring the customers’ needs are always at the forefront of our solutions.
  • Plan the business analysis work for projects by defining timescales, milestones and dependencies for the work to proceed successfully in an Agile or Waterfall manner as appropriate.
  • Work in a team of other Business Analysts on large / complex pieces of work, ensuring that the vision, scope and requirements are aligned across the entire project.
  • Support the Lead Business Analyst to engage with business functions to understand their strategy and business plans to formulate product roadmaps.
  • Support test teams and project managers with the evaluation of defects and prioritisation of these defects.
  • Represent the business and their requirements through the project lifecycle.

What you’ll need to have

These are the essential skills or experience needed to succeed in this role.

  • You’ll have demonstrable experience as a Business Analyst – this role is about having the confidence and passion to take personal accountability for projects of varying scale and inspiring the implementation of outstanding solutions.
  • You’ll have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage, influence, negotiate and collaborate with a variety of stakeholders at all levels in the business
  • You’ll be detail oriented and strive for a collaborative understanding to deliver the best product for our customers.
  • You’ll have the ability to handle multiple projects, deadlines, and work independently without supervision.
  • You’ll always strive to understand and bring others along when your understanding is greater than theirs.
  • You will have experience of working within both Agile and Waterfall software delivery environments and an all-round appreciation of IT delivery.

  • Experience of working as a Product Owner, Product Manager or Agile Business Analyst.
  • Experience of working in a fast paced healthcare, pharmacy or retail environment.
  • Recognised qualification in business analysis.
