North Northamptonshire Council is offering an 18-month Business Administrator Apprenticeship. The role supports the ICF and Children’s Commissioning Team, with focus on efficiency and value.
You will work toward a Level 3 Business Administrator qualification and gain hands-on experience in business support across multiple tasks. The ideal candidate is a care leaver or has care experience, with GCSE English and Maths, strong organisation and communication skills, and proficiency in MS Office.
In line with our commitment to the Care Leaver Covenant, this apprenticeship is restricted to applicants who are care leavers or have care experience as defined by the Children (Leaving Care) Act 2000. This includes anyone who has been in foster care, residential care, or other local authority care settings.

To provide administrative support to the ICF (Intelligent Client Function) and Children's Commissioning Team to ensure an efficient, effective and responsive service to both North Northampton, West Northampton and The Northamptonshire Children’s Trust. With a focus on adding value, the role of business apprentice contributes to the efficiency of the team, through support of functional areas, working across teams and resolving issues as requested.
Building skills to use a range of digital tools, including Microsoft 365 and AI-supported applications, to improve efficiency and support day‑to‑day operations while contributing to team objectives.
The flexibility and responsiveness required allows the apprentice to develop a wide range of skills and experience across a variety of tasks.
