Job description

Business Administrator | Admin | Outpatients |Redbridge | Part time, 15 hours per week |

Spire London East is currently recruiting for a Business Administrator to join our friendly team. This is a part-time role, working 15 hours per week, covering Thursday & Friday 9am – 5pm.

To ensure all administrative processes within the hospital are maintained effectively through strict compliance to Spire procedures and to undertake basic financial processes in accordance with procedures as required.

Spire London East Hospital (formerly Spire Roding) is located in Redbridge, on the borders of East London and Essex. We offer comprehensive private hospital services, ranging from outpatient clinics and physiotherapy to surgery and diagnostic tests in a relaxed, clean and comfortable environment.

The hospital has 24 inpatient beds and 16 day case rooms called ‘pods’. Facilities include four operating theatres, an endoscopy suite, 2 extended recovery unit, pharmacy,x-ray, outpatient and diagnostic facilities.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • To ensure that all charging is actioned daily for Outpatient charging and is completed as required.
  • To call off daily and monthly reports and action them accordingly to specified work instructions
  • To ensure all billing is actioned promptly and accurately in line with Spire procedures and identifying billing problems. To follow up on billing queries liaising with HSC as required.
  • To ensure that all charge sheets listed in the ‘outpatient charge book’ are collected
  • Any other duties as required, which may include month end tasks from the Finance Director.
  • Ensure that all mandatory training is completed within expected timeframes
  • Comply with all Hospital local policies including Health & Safety, Quality, Fire, Security and Uniform
  • Adhere to and promote the SPIRE vision and values
  • Liaise and communicate with all other departments across the hospital

Who we're looking for:

  • Knowledge of SAP is an essential part of this job.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Outlook and Excel.
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated, able to prioritise and work accurately under pressure with sound numerical and analytical ability and attention to detail.
  • Good organisational skills and time management.
  • Knowledge of Spire Healthcare systems would be beneficial.
  • An accurate approach when working to strict deadlines and a confidence when delivering information to key personnel.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team with a desire to provide excellent customer service
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience of working in admin/financial roles ideally within the healthcare profession.
  • The applicant must have 3 – 5 years of admin/finance experience.
