Job summary

Think Recruitment in Birmingham is seeking a proactive Business Administrator to join a busy regional team. This hybrid role combines business and senior management support with administration and coordination of training activity across the region.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Regional Managing Director and the Regional Social Value & Training Manager, handling diary management, meetings, reports, and events while ensuring training records are current and compliant.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a varied administrative, coordination or business support role.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Strong attention to detail and accurate data-entry skills.
  • Confidence dealing with telephone calls, emails and correspondence.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day administrative and secretarial support to the Regional Managing Director.
  • Manage diaries, arrange appointments and coordinate meetings.
  • Prepare correspondence, reports, spreadsheets, emails and presentations.
  • Support the collation of the monthly regional report.
  • Arrange internal meetings, take minutes and circulate actions.
  • Organise staff briefings, events, outings and social occasions.
  • Support office Health & Safety activities, including meetings and audits.
  • Coordinate the booking of training courses and maintain training records.
  • Assist in maximizing CITB grant funding when arranging training.
  • Keep training databases and internal systems up to date.
  • Monitor training records and certificate expiry dates.
  • Liaise with internal teams, site staff and external training providers.
  • Organise training events, venues, refreshments and delegate lists.
  • Maintain training documentation and certificates.
  • Manage internal e-learning activity and follow up when required.
  • Provide general administrative support to the Regional Social Value & Training Manager.

Business Administrator

Location: Birmingham
Salary: Up to 35,000 basic + package

My client are looking for an organised, proactive and highly capable Business & Training Administrator to join a busy regional team in Birmingham.

This is a varied hybrid role, combining business and senior management support with responsibility for the administration and coordination of training activity across the region.

Working closely with the Regional Managing Director and Regional Social Value & Training Manager, you'll play an important role in keeping the regional operation organised and ensuring training activity is coordinated effectively.

The role would suit someone who enjoys variety, is confident working with senior stakeholders and colleagues at all levels, and is naturally organised with excellent attention to detail.

The Role

Business & Senior Management Support

  • Providing day-to-day administrative and secretarial support to the Regional Managing Director
  • Managing diaries, arranging appointments and coordinating meetings
  • Preparing correspondence, reports, spreadsheets, emails and presentations
  • Supporting the collation of the monthly regional report

  • Supporting office Health & Safety activities, including meetings, action points and quarterly audit checks

Training Administration & Coordination

  • Coordinating the booking of training courses and maintaining accurate training records
  • Supporting the region to maximise available CITB grant funding when arranging training
  • Keeping training databases and internal systems up to date
  • Monitoring training records and certificate expiry dates
  • Liaising with internal teams, site staff and external training providers
  • Supporting the organisation of training events, including venues, refreshments, room arrangements, invitations and delegate lists
  • Maintaining training documentation and certificates
  • Managing internal e-learning activity, monitoring completion and following up where required
  • Providing general administrative support to the Regional Social Value & Training Manager
About You

We're looking for someone who is highly organised, dependable and comfortable managing multiple priorities. You'll need excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills and the confidence to liaise with colleagues, senior managers and external providers.

You should have:

  • Previous experience in a varied administrative, coordination or business support role
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Strong attention to detail and accurate data-entry skills
  • Confidence dealing with telephone calls, emails and correspondence
  • Experience coordinating meetings, events or similar activities would be beneficial
  • The ability to work independently, manage deadlines and proactively follow up outstanding information
